RI First Energy, E-Petition

In signing this petition, I recognize that the reckless energy policies … enacted by Rhode Island officials and lawmakers that put the interests of their own political power, big corporations, special interest groups, and extremist agendas ahead of the well-being of the citizens they are pledged to serve … must be stopped and reversed!

This energy assault on Rhode Islanders creates great societal harm … and we are prepared to hold accountable those officials who continue this corruption.

Without adequate forethought, lawmakers and regulators  chose to abandon the real science and blindly follow a false narrative, instead of considering the real-life consequences of their actions.

They rushed to implement policies, with, what we now know are, impossible to reach carbon emission goals.

These misguided policies will:

  • Greatly increase energy costs on all RI families and businesses
  • Reduce energy choices for consumers … and forcing us to buy high-priced Electric Vehicles and appliances.
  • Risk catastrophic black-outs or brown-outs during the coldest and hottest days of the year because of the unreliability of intermittent green-energy production
  • Create new forms of environmental pollution, including the mining of toxic wind and solar minerals, debris from and disposal of broken and obsolete turbines and panels, as well as toxic chemicals bein g poured out into our oceans and upon our lands
  • Cause deadly harm to marine, bird, and wild life
  • Require back-up fossil-fuel power generation systems

And … all of these harms for no net-carbon emissions reductions!

As an Ocean State resident, I call upon state and local officials to end their economic and energy assualt on RI families.

As a voter, I pledge to hold accountable those elected officials who do not heed our call to implement a less costly and more achievable common-sense energy policy.

We, the people, are being sold out by politicians and bureaucrats who little interest for their constituents … rather they seek to protect their own power and line the pockets (with tax-payer and rate-payer subsidies) of the many insider crony organizations and corporations who, in turn, line lawmaker’s political pockets (with campaign donations).

It is time for a RI First Energy strategy, with policies that balances the needs of the people with environmental concerns.

We petition government officials to reject current and future green-energy boondoggles … and replace them with a sane RI energy policy that preserves our Ocean State’s natural environment and makes our state a more affordable place to live, work, and thrive for generations to come.
