About Mike Stenhouse

Mike Stenhouse founded the RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity in 2011 and currently serves as CEO. Stenhouse earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from Harvard University, where he was also a two-time All-America baseball selection. A Cranston native who attended Cranston East, Stenhouse also enjoyed an 8-year professional baseball career, playing in the major leagues with the Montreal Expos, Minnesota Twins, and Boston Red Sox. Mike and his wife, Wendy, live in Cranston and have 3 sons.

As the 2014 legislative session begins, the leaders of Rhode Island’s political class have signaled that they will not let themselves consider any big ideas to boost our state’s stagnant economy or to improve our dismal jobs outlook. The most productive path for legislators in 2014 may be to wipe out destructive policies.
